Sir Peter Blake Torbay Memorial Regatta

Torbay Sailing Club is aligned with the Sir Peter Blake Trust's focus on leadership, but maintain a vision and committment that great sailors make great leaders. We feel that being in touch with the environment through sailing, installs a true respect for it, and a passion for its preservation.

From these fundamental principles, the Torbay Sailing Club is committed to the preservation of the values and principles that Sir Peter gave to New Zealand, both in terms of national identity, and especially to its youth, through fair but hard, competition in sport....

We do very much look forward to hosting the Sir Peter Blake Torbay Memorial Regatta for 2009, as a celebration of Sir Peter's life through this festival of sailing... .

The tentative dates of the 2009 event are Sat 5th and Sun 6th of December

The Torbay Sailing Club is pleased to acknowledge the support and strategic partnerships with the following companies and organisations.

Hello. welcome to Torbay Sailing Clubs web site.

I heard these words you see above at the opening of the North American Optimist National Champs in Curacao in July 2008.  They struck me as so simple yet so appropriate. When you go out to sail, do you dream of maybe one day representing your club, or maybe your country, at a regatta? I was sure that as I stood in a crowd of celebrating sailors, parents and officials, that each and all of those people had a dream ... and thats why they were there.

Please have a look around the site. We want to hear from you. Provide us feedback or drop myself
